Hidari Style Guide: Left Side Spikes, Stats, Mastery and When It Returns
Hidari is the most-searched style in Volleyball Legends right now, and the timing is no accident: its third limited run just ended on August 8, 2026, leaving latecomers hunting for what they missed. Here’s the full picture — how Left Side actually works, whether it earns its hype, and what history says about when it comes back.

The Left Side Mechanic
Hidari’s Secret Special rewards hitting the ball on your left side — when contact happens closer to the left arm’s hitbox, the spike (or serve) comes out dramatically faster and drops hard, with a red lightning effect announcing it. The style also carries unusually strong back-tilt by default, which is what makes backline scores land: a Left Side spike aimed deep shoots downward late in its arc, exactly where receives are hardest.
In practice that means Hidari play is about approach discipline — positioning every attack so the ball naturally meets your left arm. Players who spike on reflex get an ordinary Secret; players who set up the left-side contact get one of the hardest-to-receive attacks in the game.
Stats
Base stats: Jump 100% · Spike 60% · Block/Bump/Dive 50% · Set 45% · Speed 30% · Serve 25% — with Left Side contact pushing its effective spike far past the sheet (Hidari is the second style ever to carry two rainbow stats, after Jinko). The community wiki notes its base spread resembles Tonkura, with Left Side stats closer to a buffed Azmei.
The stat sheet undersells it: raw Serve 25% looks bad until you remember Left Side applies to serves too.
Mastery Track
Hidari is one of six Secret styles with Mastery (alongside Kazana, Roketto, Taichou, Timeskip Okazu and Yogan). The five tiers escalate from “get 3 serves in a row 10 times” and “50 Left-Side spike scores” up to Mastery 5’s grind: 200 Ranked wins, 800 receive-sets, 500 saves and MVP 50 times in 4v4 Ranked. Expect the last two tiers to take serious ranked hours.
Balance History
- Oct 25, 2025 — double nerf: gravity reduced on both Left Side serve and spike (two weeks after release, because opponents genuinely couldn’t receive it)
- Jun 27, 2026 — partial buff: Left Side spike gravity slightly restored
Translation: launch Hidari was overtuned, current Hidari is strong-but-fair, and the June buff signals the developers want it relevant.
Should You Chase It?
If you’re a spiker main, yes — it’s the definition of a Secret pity selection target for its next run. Owners from before December 31, 2025 carry an OG marking (and Christmas 2025 owners a 🎄 marking), so the style doubles as a flex. Three limited runs in ten months suggests roughly quarterly returns; when the next one is announced, a code usually accompanies it (July’s run shipped with HIDARI_FINALLY — see the codes page).
Until then, the tier list covers which available styles fill the spiker slot, and the spiking guide makes any of them hit harder.
